One Voice Awards 2021, here I come!

I actually cannot believe I’m writing this, but after just a year of being a full-time VO, and still very much a newbie to the industry, I found out this week that I’ve made the shortlist for 3 One Voice Awards!

It was the first time that I’ve entered, and it will also be my first time attending the annual conference (as well as the awards now!), and I’m so excited to finally get to meet all of my inspirational and super-talented colleagues, that I feel I’ve started to get to know virtually (through forums, social media and zoom meetings), but have yet to meet most of them IRL!

The three categories I’m up for are:

• Demo Reels - Best Performance (Female)

• Television Promo - Best Overall Performance

• Outstanding Live Event Announcer (Voice of God)

These nominations mean even more to me knowing that the Gravy for the Brain team received over 3,000 entries for just 33 categories! And now that I’ve seen my fellow nominees in my categories, I’m absolutely in awe, as these are people I’ve looked up to and tried to emulate for the last couple of years. So it’s absolutely wonderful to just be on the same list as them.

With just over a month until the Awards Ceremony, I now just need to figure out what to wear, and plan the night with my lovely sister, Rebecca, who’ll be coming with me as my date for the night!

To any of my VO buddies reading this - I’m super excited to finally meet you in person at the conference and the awards ceremony!
