Cuppa VO Podcast

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I launched my Voiceover Podcast ‘Cuppa VO’! I felt so lucky to be able to get access to some of the top VO professionals, Producers and Casting Directors in the UK, so I made the most of my time with them and discussed some of the hottest topics (that weren’t being addressed) in the world of Voiceover.

If you haven’t listened to the podcast yet, you can find all episodes below with info on who features in each episode and a brief summary of what we covered:

First episode of Cuppa VO, covering the backgrounds and past careers of Voiceover Artists, and how they got into Voiceover.

Episode 2 of Cuppa VO covers the evolution of the Demo, and should VOs be getting professionally produced ones or curating their own?

Episode 3 covers advice from Demo Reel Producers. This week I’m chatting with two lovely Demo Producers, both of whom I’ve worked with in the past, Rich O’Donohue (ioAudio) and Nick Clinch (Notable Voices), on why Demos are so important to a VOs career, and what advice they’d give for getting the most out of a demo recording session.

For episode 4 we're asking the question: Are you a Jack of all trades, or are you a genius in your field? I chat to Voiceover Artists to find out their thoughts on specialising in one or two genres, versus trying them all. What did they do, and what would their advice be to people new to the industry who don’t know which to start with?

For episode 5 of Cuppa VO, we're talking agents! There’s tons of advice out there on how to get an agent, but the real question is, do you actually need one? I look at, and break down, the different types of Agencies, as well as alternatives to finding work, and ask fellow Voiceover Artists if they have Agency Representation and whether they think it’s necessary for VOs working in the industry today.

In episode 6 of Cuppa VO, we discuss how to harness your Superpower to elevate your VO business.
